Rocking Thru the Decades - Jake's 2nd Grade Play

Yes it is Rocking thru the Decades at Sycamore Canyon.
Jake's 2nd Grade play was in May.

I love this cheesy grin. Jake was very animated and really into the play. I always think of this as payday for mom's. He was so cute. His class sang the songs from Annie - It's a hard knock for us and the Sun will come out tomorrow. The next classes were moving thru the 60's, 70's and 80's. It was a fun evening.

Happy Birthday, Jake

Happy Birthday Jake

Jake decided this year to take the money and run. He decided to just have TJ over and take the money ($150.00) to Target. He had the best time at Target. He bought Bakuguns and a game for his DS. I kept telling him that he did not have to spend it all. It was a fun night. We went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. Happy Birthday, Jake. It is great to be eight.

California Poppies - a Fun road Trip

It is California Poppy Time. We drove up to Lancaster to the California Poppy Reserve. It was a cold and windy day, but we hiked the trails to see the poppies. It was beautiful with the hillside in full bloom. We will plan on going again in 2010.

Easter, It is springtime !

I love Easter. In my mind, it is the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. We always have Easter Baskets and speak of Jesus Christ. I put things for Summer and chocolate.

Jake starts Cub Scouts

Jake started Cub Scouts today. He was so excited to be with TJ Eschenberg. I hope he knows that this means he will have to earn belt loops. He was so cute. He was very serious and wanted to do everything right. They were working on the baseball belt loop with Sister Kreiner and Sister Carrie Snow. Let the adventure begin.

The Los Angeles Temple and Tito's Taco's too.

On Saturday, March 7, Adam and the Young Men and Young Women went to the temple to do baptisms. I drove 6 deacons down in Jens' car. What fun we had. It was wonderful being in the temple with Adam. Jaime Yager joined me on the way home. But first, we went to Titos Tacos. Titos Taco is a tradition. Great Tacos and great fun. Adam was so happy to be inside the temple. It was a wonderful day.

Tree Yager, Zack Eschenberg, Tyler Macdonald, Landen Woolley and Sam Thomas

Anna and the Living Museum

Anna is in the 4th grade this year. One of her assignments was to read a book about a person that has a California connection. She learned about Condoleezza Rice. Then, she prepared a speech, and a poster. This morning she became part of the Living Museum. Along with all the 4th grades, she delivered her speech as Condoleezza Rice. When someone touched the globe, she delivered her speech in 1 minute and 30 seconds. She did a great job. We learned a lot about Condoleezza Rice. She is amazing person with lots of talents.

Anna as Condoleezza Rice

Anna given her speech.

There were lots of Walt Disney, Mia Hamm and Tony Hawk. There were a few Shirley Temple and lots of Sport stars.
