It is field day for Jake and Anna. Adam is too big now that he is in the middle school. Poor guy!!
The last week of school is party week. Jake is surrounded by his best "girl friends" in 2nd grade. Anna is jumping her heart out so she will not let the team down. Also, Anna is pictured with Miss Amelia Cundiff, her 4th grade teacher. It was lots of fun for everyone!!

Hiking to the beach!!

I have always wanted to hike through Sycamore Canyon to the beach. Well, we finally did on June 6. It is 8 miles down. We brought candy for Jake. Every 20 minutes we would give Jake a piece of candy. About 15 minutes until the end, Jake was lagging behind. I turned around and looked. He told me that his legs would not work anymore. Daddy put him on his shoulders for the last 15 minutes. I was so tired after that. But, it is check off the list.

Gold Dust or Bust - Anna's 4th Grade Play

Anna learned all about the history California this year in school. Her 4th grade play was all about the gold rush. She loved learning about the history of California. She was Luezeuna in her play. One of her many lines - "You know like a lot of women during the gold rush, I made a good living of offering room and lodging to the miners. Men would pay a good price for a good home cooked meals and sewing and washing." She did a good job acting out the part. I think that Anna was a pairie girl in another life. She loves Little House on the Praire, etc. Madison Merrill came to the play too. Afterward we went to have frozen yogurt at Golden Spoon. I love the picture of Anna in her bonnet.

Yes, I am 10 years old!!!

Anna is ten years old. To celebrate, we had 15 girlfriends over for a slumber party. They had so much fun. We made sleepy time headbands, watched Winn-dixie, ate pizza, and cake and ice cream. It was a fun time. I loved the expression on Anna's face when they sang Happy Birthday! Not all the girls spent the night. By the end of the night we had only 9 girls left. In the morning we went to the donut shop. I think Anna will remember her 10th birthday for a long time, plus I have the pictures.

It's Great to Eight - Jake gets baptized.

Jake is 8. Where did the time go? He was so excited to be baptized. Grandma and Grandpa came. Michael Eschenberg baptized Jake. Mike is TJ's dad. TJ is Jake's best friend. Our friend, Joel Congelliere proform the confirmation of the Holy Ghost. In his blessing, Joel told Jake to listen to his sisblings, that Adam and Anna would help him in life. He mention this a couple of times. Our friend, Jamie Yager had a bird-eye view of Jake during the confirmation. She said the there was just enough space between the men who were included in the circle that she could see Jake's face. She said that he was so angelic looking - focused on the words being said. We had a get together at the house afterwards. It was a nice day.
Men in the circle - Joel Congelliere, Steve Simmons, Michael Eschenberg, Jeremy Jaggi, David Jones, Jon Yager, and Gary Dalton.

Summer is coming

Just a taste of summer - being wet from swimming, going to the beach, and enjoying the heat. We can not wait!!
